Day-2 Match Results ACC U-17 CUP 2005 Malaysia

• Kuala Lumpur (6th August): Singapore and UAE qualified for the quarter-finals after recording their second respective wins on day two of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Under-17 Trophy Challenge. Singapore defeated Kuwait by 5 wickets at Aman Club while UAE beat Thailand by 4 wickets at the Mutiara Rini Oval at Johor Bahru.
  
• At Aman Club Kuwait batted first to score 127 for 9 wickets at the end of allotted 45 overs. Ali Raza (20), Mazen Moez Ali (29), Jasim Shahzad(21 n.o.) and Ibrahim Saifudin (16) reached double figures for Kuwait. Mayank Dalakoti, Mohammed Ifran Madakia and Rohan Tripathi took 2  wickets each giving away 17, 18 and 24 runs respectively.
• In reply Singapore reached the target of 128 runs for the lost of 5 wickets. Siddhart George hit a sparkling 52 to be named man of the match while Prem Dadlani remained unbeaten on 39.
• At Kinrara Oval, Qatar bating first amassed a total of 215 all out in 39.2 overs. Opening batsmen. Ibrahim Zahoor (84) and Tamoor Sajjad (62)put up an entertaining opening partnership of 118 runs in 16.5 overs. Iqbal Hussain chipped in with 15 runs. Oman's top bowling honours went to Vijay Bhaskar and Bilal Javed captured 4 wickets each giving away 32 and 45 runs respectively. Vivek Venkataram took 1 for 5. Oman lost Akshay Srinivasan for a first ball duck and the rest of the bastmen found runs hard to get. Vivek Veenkataram top scored with 45 while Vijay Baskhar (36), Bilal Javed (26) and Gautham. Venugopal (20) also featured among the runs.Tammor Sajjad who was adjudged man of the match took 4 for 6 off 2.2 overs to allow Oman to reach 177 all out in 40.2 overs. M.Faiz Khan took 2 for 45 while Ibrahim Zahoor and Deon Joynal Britto had a wicket each.
• Saudi Arabia beat Bhutan by 205 runs at the Bayuemas Oval in Klang in a reduced 35 over match. Saudi Arabia batting first punished the Bhutanese bowlers to all corners of the field scoring 251 for 6 wickets. Skipper Shoib Ali (man of the match) top scored with a hurricane innings of 93 runs off 73 balls. Razaur Rahman Zia (35), Rizwan Manzoor (29), Mohammad Sofyan (26) and Ahmad Al Nadwi (25) all had a good start but fell going for quick runs. Ugyen Dorji took 3 for 53 while Kezang Jigme, Jigme Sinyye, Sushil Sharma and Tashi had a wicket each. Bhutan only managed to score 47 all out in 21.4 overs. Tashi top scored with 18 runs. Mohammad Sofyan, Shoib Ali and Kazaim Ali Naqvi took 2 wickets each.
• At the Selangor Turf Club Ground in Sungei Besi, Bahrain beat Hong Kong by 6 wickets. Hong Kong batting first scored 99 all out in 36.4 overs. Khuram Shahzad (28), Ifran Ahmed (13) and Sajid Khan (10)  reached double figures. Hong Kong's Mohd Danish Jasnaik captured 5 for 22 off 7.4 overs while Angad Singh had 3 for 17. Bahrain's opening batsman David Mathias hit an unbeaten 54 and was duly named man of the match as his team coasted to an easy victory reaching 103 for 4 wickets in 33.2 overs.
