Kuwait all set to host ACC Under–19 Elite cup 2009

Kuwait Cricket will be reaching yet another milestone, this time by hosting ten nations ACC Under -19 Elite Cricket Cup. The two weeks cricket bonanza will also serve as Under – 19 World Cup qualifying round for Asian region.
According to Riaz Chaudhry, the Technical Director for the event international match officials have started arriving in Kuwait. Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has assigned K.T. Francis, former test and ODI umpire from Sri Lanka to observe on – filed umpires’ performance and he reached Kuwait yesterday.
The Match Referees and Umpires from Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have also reached Kuwait yesterday, whereas umpires from Nepal, Singapore and Oman will be flying in today. Two senior umpires from Kuwait John Saloman and Fareed Khan Dalwai have also been appointed to the on – field panel of Umpires. Whereas Irfan Adil, Zahid Usman, Naresh D’Souza, Abdul Qayyum, Sajjad Ahmad and Francis Viegas will act as fourth umpire.
The matches will start simultaneously at 9 a.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, at four grounds. The fixture for first day will be:
KEC Ground Doha: Nepal will play Saudi Arabia.
Hubara Ground Ahmadi: Malaysia will face Singapore
Unity Ground Ahmadi: Qatar will meet UAE
Sulaibya Ground, Sulaibya: Afghanistan will take on Bhutan
